Shawn Thornton Of The Boston Bruins Gets Kicked In The Face - Watch Video



The video of Shawn Thornton’s injury is difficult to watch. If you are brave enough, scroll down to see Shawn Thornton get kicked in the face with a skate. Luckily for him, the skate missed his eye and he was able to be put back together with 40 stitches. And like a true hockey player, he brushed off the injury after the game.

Said Shawn Thornton: “I’m fine… No headache, no concussion, no nothing.”

The forward for the Boston Bruins was injured by Fernando Pisani’s skate in Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Shawn Thornton injury happened in the second period as the Bruins were on their way to a 3-0 victory.

When reporters saw him after the game, they said Shawn Thornton’s stetches were in an “S” shape. Amazingly, he said he hoped he could play in the next game.
