Katy Perry debuted the music video for her latest single off “Teenage Dream,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” and she couldn’t do it without the help of another “Friday” star: none other than Rebecca Black.
The humorous clip packs numerous tried-and-true story arcs of teen movies in a mere eight minutes, from a geek-to-chic makeover (just remove those big glasses, and voila!), to a teenaged rager while parents are away, and plenty of unrequited longing. Meanwhile, after several months of vicious internet bullying, Katy Perry gives Rebecca Black her chance to play "the cool girl."
The song was written by Perry, Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee, and was produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin.
The music video for "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" was filmed in May 2011. It was directed by Marc Klasfeld.
In the video, Perry plays Kathy Beth Terry, a nerdy teenager with braces, headgear and oversized glasses who just woke up the morning after a house party, surrounding by passed-out partygoers.
Rebecca Black knows a thing or two about Fridays, so of course pop songstress Katy Perry decided to include the 13-year-old YouTube sensation in her latest music video for new single “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” The video features Katy’s alter ego, Kathy Beth Terry and certainly rivals Rebecca’s viral hit “Friday”!
Friday should be Rebecca Black‘s favorite day, ever. It’s the way she’s built her fame and how she’s keeping the momentum going!
